Be Absolutely Gutted When It's Over, So Proud Of Team GB.
Hands up i did think it would be absolutely bloody awful but it hasn't it's been absolutely amazing although not going to be taking up any of the games on there. We are the velodrome all stars and apparently 30% of our medals come from there and i didn't realise how complicated some of the races were and what the rules are but I was so proud of the girls and guys winning gold after gold.
Yes of course i would be team GB because i am British but i felt so proud of Usain Bolt doing the treble, treble i mean 9 golds that's insane and how he is just such a lovely guy and everyone loves him even when he came out onto the track he was introduced as if he were a boxer it was amazing. They kept saying where were you on Super Saturday in 2012 London Olympics and i was shouting at the TV i was there. My brother got the tickets because frankly he could afford to buy them, they were outrageously expensive but we got track and field events so we saw Usain and Mo and it was fantastic. Still got my ticket from the games and wrist band and my heart was bursting with pride.
When JFK said we don't do things because they are easy we do them because they are hard he didn't say that about the Olympics he was making reference to something totally different. But if you apply it to the games i think it works just perfectly.
I have been staying up every night to watch the games and the time difference in Rio to UK is 4 hours behind us so it appears that staying up to 3.30 for them is more like 11.30 but how late is that to be running races etc., i also saw the ladies hockey and wasn't going to bother watching but they said it was played in quarters of 15 minutes so i thought i would and for the first time ever we won a gold which was utterly amazing. If i was someone that bit their nails i wouldn't have one left. I did feel so sorry for the team from the Netherlands as they lost and the girls were crying. On the other hand team GB were crying with joy and it was so good i was glued watching, hoping and praying they would win it really was something else and if you didn't see it you missed out big time.
Liz Hilton - I have enjoyed every minute and it only comes around every 4 years - Team GB well done.
I couldn't agree more, the Olympics are absorbing and fabulous. Thankfully the Football season has started otherwise I'd be totally lost once the Olympics are over. Roll on Team GB and Tokyo 2020.
